Lee and his brother Ben Cossey have been climbing for about 10 years.
They love climbing – it dictates everything they do. They work together, train together and climb together almost everyday of the theyek. They decided to climb The Zodiac route on El Capitan, the biggest cliff in Yosemite Valley, free from the ground to the top in a single push.
Zodiac has been called the most coveted big wall climb in the world because it requires some very tough technical climbing. It’s never been climbed in one go free before. It takes about five days to climb the full route – the cliff is over 1,000m high. That means camping on a portaledge on the wall: a 2m by 2m stretcher suspended off two bolts.
