I saw the programm and i must say it almost seemed as an Islamic-regime propaganda. It baffles that the concept of "democracy" seems not to be clear to a NatGeo reporter. As you should know, the practice of homosexuality is severely punished in Iran (from lashes to public hangings). In an iranian court, the testimony of a woman has half the worth of a man, and the "crime" of being unfaithfull (for women, ofcourse) is punished by stonings. There are several members of the opposition (and journalists) who have been jailed for being against the regime. Despite the interviews i ask you: do jews, christiants, women, and other minorities have the same rights as the rest of the civilians? Is there one single member of the gvt. or parlament who's christian or jewish? Can people peacefully protest in Iran, without fearing a brutal response from the government? Needless to say, the answer is no. Calling the Islamic Republic of Iran a "republic" is a complete depicture of the real situation in this country, which goes against the very principles of journalism.
