After getting stuck in Uyuni, It turned out out be the best day there & looked like a stunning Sunset over the flooded slat Flats.
It was £45 to hire a 4x4 for a trip to the Salt, as it was 25km away.
I spent a while asking lots of Taxi drivers & eventually found one who believed me, that I have been yesterday & it was possible & for just under £10 too.
It turned into a huge adventure, as he rightly went back to base first to get a spare tyre & a cell phone, but that made us late for the sunset.
The colours were stunning as there was huge thunderstorms in the distance & the clouds were huge & lit up very huge in the atmosphere.
On Arrival at the edge of the salt in the near dark - Now a 4,000 square mile lake - the driver got scared & refused to go in, even after I had explained it all, SO, I had to take off my shoes & socks & walk in in front of the taxi to prove it was only a few inches deep.
Then I got back in, & drove about one kilometre to the area where the dig out the salt where there are plenty of Pyramids, which is what I wanted to shoot.
It was Very very odd indeed to be in a car heading out into an abyss - as all you could see in the headlights was a lake & I felt a boat might be more useful - Nuts!
The suns glow was pretty dim, but actually made for some good shots, as I lit up the salt with my torch, which all looked rather good together with the full moon.
