In November 2009 I travelled to Iran. My plan was to walk solo across the entire country from the Caspian Sea in the north to the Persian Gulf iin the south. I managed to successfully complete my journey and walked alone for 60 days covering almost 1700km across Iran.
The footage in this short clip was taken on my first day walking on the Caspian Sea. It was not the most exciting time of the journey but it was a good learning environment. These first few days allowed me to find out what I could get away with. Was wild camping going to be ok? How far could I get in a day? Who would I meet and what would their reaction to me be?
Iran is a most beautiful country with the most kind and generous people. The single focus view we have on Iran through the media should not prevent anyone from visiting and finding this out for themselves.
